Hygiene Management

The hygienic cleaning and availability of patient beds and other medical devices such as ultrasound machines and ECGs is a key factor in patient safety and legal compliance in hospitals. At the same time, the requirements for documentation, traceability and hygiene compliance are constantly increasing.

Breaking the chains of infection

HPM® enables the identification of medical devices that the patient has come into contact with. This allows them to be traced and handed over for cleaning, even if the germ findings only emerge after the patient has been discharged. This means that chains of infection can be efficiently interrupted.

All medical devices are clearly displayed in the product finder of our app or in the ward view for ward PCs or tablets. This significantly reduces search and walking times for urgently needed medical devices.

Visibility of upcoming Technical Inspections

Upcoming or overdue maintenance, safety and calibration inspections for beds and other medical devices are clearly displayed in HPM®. This enables faster safety and measurement inspections and significantly reduces the ratio of medical devices with overdue inspection dates.

The service life of medical devices is transparently displayed to all app users in HPM®. This enables evidence-based procurement of replacement devices once the end of their service life has been reached.

Theft Prevention for Medical Devices

Medical devices can be equipped with RFID tags that contain a unique identification number. This allows devices and their allocation to be clearly identified at any time. RFID readers are installed at strategic points, such as doors, windows or exits. These readers detect the signals from the tags and enable real-time localisation of the medical devices. If a product leaves the designated area, HPM® automatically detects this and triggers an alarm immediately.

High process transparency

HPM® provides real-time visibility into the current process stage of each medical device. This prevents devices from being put back into use before the required cleaning process has been completed.

Maintenance and inspection management

HPM® centrally controls and comprehensively documents recurring maintenance and inspection processes. These include monitoring the perlator flush, regularly replacing HEPA air filters and maintaining fire extinguishers. Automatic reminders, clear responsibilities and digital documentation ensure that tasks are carried out on time and that audit-proof documentation is maintained in accordance with statutory operator obligations.

Digital safety inspections

With HPM®, safety inspections in hospitals become a structured, audit-proof process. Employees record defects and potential hazards right on site using the app – including photo documentation and real-time location. Automatic forwarding to the responsible department ensures fast processing and transparent monitoring. In this way, HPM® helps hospitals to reliably minimise operator risks and to be able to provide complete documentation to authorities and insurers at any time – for example, in the context of traffic safety obligations, workplace safety and fire protection.

Our native app has been developed for both Android and iOS and runs on all mobile devices used in hospitals, such as smartphones or tablets. Furthermore, HPM® is part of the Myco & Friends app ecosystem from Ascom.

No. To use HPM®’s real-time functionalities, a stable and active internet connection is required in all areas where HPM® is deployed.

HPM® is flexible and provides interfaces to many common systems, including:

  • HL7, FHIR and other standards

HPM® can be hosted either in a hospital’s private cloud or on-premise in the hospital’s own data center.

No. CLINARIS does not have access to personal patient data in hospitals at any time via HPM®. HPM® focuses exclusively on the hygiene and process management of beds and other medical devices. No patient data is required for this purpose and therefore none is collected.
